This course examines the role of the state in designing and implementing economic policies that shape national development. Students will explore core policy instruments such as fiscal, monetary, trade, and industrial policies and evaluate their impact on economic growth, poverty reduction, social equity, and sustainability. Emphasis will be placed on the alignment of economic policies with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including inclusive growth, decent work, reduced inequality, and climate action. Real-world case studies will provide insights into how governments address complex economic challenges in both global and local contexts.
